About

Where this data comes from

Championspedia is built directly from Pokemon Champions itself, not from community spreadsheets, so what you see here matches what the game actually ships.

Where the numbers come from

Every stat, move, ability and item on this site is read directly out of Pokemon Champions itself, not copied from another wiki or typed in by hand. It updates when the game patches. This site currently reflects game version 1.2.0.

What is in the database

  • 396 battle-ready forms with stats, types, abilities and weights
  • 512 legal moves, filtered from the full move table
  • 215 abilities with their full in-game descriptions
  • 166 held items with VP costs
  • Complete learnsets, and the reverse index of which Pokemon learn each move

What is verified and what is derived

Stats, types, abilities, learnsets, move data and item data are read straight from the game. Every update runs an audit that checks the data against known reference points before it goes live.

A few things are derived rather than sourced, and they are flagged here because being honest about it matters more than looking complete. The type effectiveness chart is the standard 18-type chart, which Champions uses unchanged as of v1.2.0 but which the game does not publish itself. The damage calculator fits two scaling constants the game does not state, which that page says on itself. Which species counted as having a Mega before Champions and the generation each dex number belongs to are editorial too. The tier list is the one page built on something outside the game entirely: it ranks by usage on the Pokemon Showdown ladder, published monthly by Smogon, because Champions does not publish usage from its own ranked mode. And stat alignment effects use the mainline nature table, since Champions names its 25 alignments without saying which stat each one moves.

How Champions differs from the mainline games

Champions is a competitive battle game, not an adventure game, and its systems reflect that. There are no EVs or IVs. Instead you get 66 stat points to distribute, capped at 32 in any one stat. Natures are replaced by stat alignments that you can change freely. Abilities are swappable in Training rather than locked at capture. And the move pool is curated, so a Pokemon may not have access here to something it learns elsewhere.

Common questions

What is Championspedia?
Championspedia is a free database and toolset for Pokemon Champions, the competitive Pokemon battle game. It covers all 396 battle-ready forms, 512 legal moves, 215 abilities and 166 held items, and includes a damage calculator, a team builder, speed tiers and a tier list built from ranked ladder usage. No account is needed and nothing is paywalled.
How many Pokemon are in Pokemon Champions?
Champions has 231 distinct species across 396 battle-ready forms, because Mega Evolutions and regional forms each count separately in battle. 81 of those forms are Mega Evolutions, one for each Mega Stone in the game.
How is Championspedia different from other Pokemon Champions sites?
Every stat, move, ability and item is read directly out of the game rather than copied from another wiki, and the site publishes what it cannot verify. Figures that are derived rather than read, such as the stat formula, are labelled as estimates on the pages that use them.
Does Pokemon Champions use EVs and natures?
No. Champions replaces EVs with stat points: 66 to spend in total with a cap of 32 in any one stat, against the mainline games' 510 and 252. It replaces natures with stat alignments, which raise one stat by 10% and lower another by 10%. There are no IVs and no Pokemon levels.
Is the Championspedia damage calculator accurate?
The base stats, types, moves and items it uses are exact. The formula converting stat points into a final stat is derived rather than stated by the game, so results are benchmarks. Every tool lets you type your real in-game numbers instead.
How often is Championspedia updated?
The database is rebuilt from each new data dump, and currently reflects game version 1.2.0. Dumps trail the live game, so a very recent patch can land before we have it. The tier list is separate and refreshes on the 2nd of every month, when the previous month's ladder data becomes available.

Corrections

If something here contradicts the game, the game is right and this site is wrong. The database is rebuilt on every patch, and the changelog records what moved between versions.
